Michael Wann realigns his scraps of paper from the whole
he found them in to the world he rests in the middle of. Wann's fractured
together works reach for us as they collapse into their place of story and
wandering. Here we are, then, ready to alight with Wann as he finds what
is looking for him. Because Wann doesn't have a site and
info is sparse on his work and habits, I'll indulge a little here....these
works are on wood, generally 24" x something more or less and are cut
paper reimagined. Wann is newly creating and is working through the
process to not only make something from nothing but also to try and
preserve the result while not interfering with it. He most assuredly knows
what he says but invites us to make a different storyline. More to come. |
